Book a Class

Pottery workshops tailored to your needs.

Whether you’re a complete beginner keen to learn a new skill, or a more experienced maker looking for guidance in honing your technique, each class will be planned specifically so that you get what you’re looking for.

A taster class runs for 2.5 hours and will guide you through the basics of preparing your clay and learning to throw a bowl or cylinder. You are welcome to choose a pot to keep, which I will glaze and fire for you. If you’d like to, please do bring one friend (at a small additional cost) to share the experience with, and take in turns. Please contact me to arrange a date and time.

Multi-week classes are also available to book upon request, for those seeking a more in-depth learning experience. It is recommended that you try a taster class first. The course consists of 4 weeks of 2.5 hour sessions, and covers the basic principles of clay preparation, throwing, trimming, and slip decorating. You can choose up to 4 pots to keep, which you will decorate, and I will glaze and fire for you. Please contact me to arrange dates and times.

The studio is based at Persistence Works in Sheffield City Centre, only a few minutes walk from the train station, and easily reachable by bus and tram. The studio is accessible, but please contact me before booking if you have any additional needs so that I can ensure that I can accommodate them.

All classes are 1:1 and move at the student’s pace, and are ideal for those that feel they would benefit from a quieter and more focussed environment rather than learning in a large group.
